Empowering Tribal Communities

समृद्ध जनजाति.. सशक्त भारत !

Our insipration – Late Shri Balasaheb Deshpande

Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (अखिल भारतीय वनवासी कल्याण आश्रम) was founded by Shri Ramakant Keshav Deshpande (also known as Balasaheb Deshpande – बाळासाहेब देशपांडे), on 26th December 1952 at Jashpur in Madhya Pradesh (presently in Chhattisgarh) by enrolling 13 children of local Janjatis to start a hostel project. Encouraged by the success of various projects for the welfare of Janjatis over the period, from 1978, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram extended its work in every state of India having a Janjati population.

Today, the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram is extensively working in all states and territories of India in 14 different Aayams (आयाम) across the three categories of Seva (सेवा), Jagran (जागरण) and Sanghatan (संघटन).
